When and why should I wear medical identification? |
|
You should always wear your medical ID tag. You never know when an emergency situation will arise and you may be unable to speak for yourself.
In an emergency situation you might be unable to speak for yourself, then a medical ID will speak for you.
- Symptoms can be easily misdiagnosed.
- Helps to identify medical conditions to aid in prompt diagnosis and treatment.
- Identify any allergies or medication taken that could effect your safety to protect against harmful medical misstakes.
- 108,000 people died last year from preventable medical errors making this the fifth leading cause of death in the U.S.

Should I select to add the Red Color to text and emblem? |
|
The engraved Text and Emblem is permanently engraved into the stainless id tag,and will never wear off in normal use.
However the ADDED RED ENAMEL color is affected by wear, ph of the skin, etc. and is NOT PERMANENT and will wear off in time. Even when the red enamel color wears off the engraved text and emblem is easily read when needed by emergency personnel. EMT's know where to look for medical ID alert jewelry.
The clear engraving makes your confidential information less obvious from casual view until the information is needed. There is no additional charge to add the red enamel color.

Medical ID Information Often Requested After An Order Has Been Submitted.
|
I made a mistake in my order. May I make a correction? |
|
All custom engraved Medical ID Jewelry orders are automatically sent to our engravers when you place the order and the order is engraved immediately in most cases. We (MedIDs.com) are unable to stop or make a change in a Custom Engraved Medical ID Jewelry order once the order has been placed as explained in our "Terms of Sale" agreement on the order payment page. To make a change in a custom order will require an additional charge.
We receive a very large volume of correspondence on a daily basis. This factor, in conjunction with our custom engraving production process* that allows us to engrave, inspect and mail out the orders in two business days for most orders, makes it both physically and mathematically impossible to "flag" one particular order and alter it in any way.
Our engraving dept. does review the information submitted that is to be engraved and if there is a possible oblivious misspelling regarding common medical conditions, etc., we will do our best to correct the spelling.
MedIDs.com however, makes no guarantee regarding this review. As stated in our "Terms Of Sale" it is the responsibility of the customer to review the order for accuracy BEFORE placing the order.

My on-line credit card payment was not approved, yet my credit card company says there is no problem my account and they approved authorization for the payment. Please explain!
|
|
For your protection to help prevent unauthorized use of your credit or debit card, there are certain precautions taken when processing on-line payments as explained below.
Non approved does not mean there is a problem with your card account.
A payment authorization was given by your credit card company however the payment authorization will be released within 3 days.
This authorization will not be acted upon and your card account will not be charged.
Reasons for On-Line Non Approval of payments are listed below.
1. The "Bill To" address on the order has to be the SAME ADDRESS that is on your card's monthly billing statement. You may have entered your street address or postal zip code incorrectly or if you recently moved the card company may still have your old mailing address on file.
2. You may have entered the card's account number or expiration date incorrectly.
3. The card security code may have been entered incorrectly.
This security code is explained below.
~ Visa, MasterCard and Discover Cards:
The credit card verification number is the last
three (3) digits printed on the BACK of your card.
~ American Express Cards:
The credit card verification number is the
four (4) digits printed above your account
number on the FRONT of your card.
You may re-order (the original declined order will be canceled).
OR
Contact us at support.MedIDs.com

Can you add engraving information to my Med ID Bracelet? |
|
Once our medical ID bracelets are engraved, the bracelet tag is "curved to fit the wrist" and once the tag is curved additional information cannot be added.
On all of our medical ID tags, the text is centered on the tag and it would be difficult to add to the necklace pendants.
|
|
How do you open the medical ID bracelet clasp? |
|
Hold the clasp up-side-down, so the
steel "O" ring slips to the bottom of the clasp.
This will allow the clasp to open.
The reason for this design is to prevent the
clasp from unlatching and losing the bracelet.
